Community of WISDOM

Connecting through remote care

Patient and public engagement has been crucial in its development, with surveys and patient testing shaping the platform. Ongoing collaboration with patients and a dedicated patient group ensures a patient-centric approach in the WISDOM project. Progress in the project would not be possible without a dedicated community of patients, carers and clinicians driving forward innovation.

About WISDOM

Surgical site infections (SSIs) post-surgery affect 5% of patients, causing extended hospital stays and distress. Remote wound monitoring through the secure digital platform, Isla, enables patients to send wound photos for expert assessment. This pathway’s success benefits numerous hospitals and thousands of patients, improving patient outcomes whilst allowing them to heal at home. The WISDOM project aims to improve the technology further, using AI to improve image quality, giving the clinicians the data they need to make decisions.
